Education
Lodha Samaj Indore intends to offer inspiration and help to the children of its community with their studies, their careers and their vocational training.
What the Community Wishes to Do
- Inspiration and help with children's studies
- Guidance about careers
- Inspiration and help to take vocational training and similar courses
Swami Brahmanand Lodhi (स्वामी ब्रह्मानंद लोधी जी) called on the people of the community to turn their attention to education — read about him on the About Us page.
Where Scholarships Come From
These are schemes of the Madhya Pradesh and Union governments, not of Lodha Samaj. The names and the portals are here only so that no family loses time looking for them. Eligibility, amounts and last dates change every year, so read them on the portal itself before applying.
- Medhavi Vidyarthi Yojna Help with the fees of further study for students who did well in class 12.
- Jankalyan (Shiksha Protsahan) For students from families registered as workers under Sambal.
- Gaon Ki Beti · Pratibha Kiran For girls going on to study after class 12 — Gaon Ki Beti for those from villages, Pratibha Kiran for those in towns.
- Post-matric scholarship For study from class 11 onward, for Other Backward Classes, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. In Madhya Pradesh the Lodhi community is OBC.
- Awas Sahayata Help with rent for students who live away from home to study.
All five are applied for on the Madhya Pradesh State Scholarship Portal. Union government schemes — such as PM-YASASVI for OBC students — are on the National Scholarship Portal. Only one scholarship is allowed for one course of study, so choose the one that gives more.
Papers to Keep Ready Before Applying
Most forms are missed every year because one paper could not be made in time. With these seven ready, the application is done in one sitting:
- Samagra ID — the family's and the student's
- Aadhaar, with a mobile number linked to it
- Caste certificate (digital) — the OBC one
- Income certificate from the tehsil; one written on plain paper is not accepted
- A bank account linked to Aadhaar, with DBT switched on
- The marksheet of the previous class
- This year's admission and fee receipts
The Samagra ID comes from the Samagra portal. Caste and income certificates are made at a Lok Seva Kendra, or by applying on MP e-District. They take some days, so do not wait for the forms to open.
The Roads After Class 10 and 12
One road does not suit every child. These are the ones open to the community's children:
- A degree — college admission runs through the Higher Education Department's online process
- A polytechnic diploma or an ITI — counselling on MP Online
- Vocational and skill training — a short course that leads to work
- Competitive exams — MPPSC, SSC, the railways, the banks; and NEET and JEE for medicine and engineering
What each road asks of a student is best heard from those in the community who have walked it. The समाज can help arrange that conversation — see the contact page.
An Invitation to Capable Community Members
Capable and well-placed Lodhi brothers who wish to offer such service work through Lodha Samaj are warmly invited. Please speak to us on the phone number above or through the contact page. Those who have studied and found their work can change a child's year with half an hour of guidance.
And if you are a student, or someone at home is studying, enter your family's details in the register so that news like this reaches you.
